What if I have multiple jobs?If you have multiple jobs, The Closing Docs' automated income verification will be able to pull all the income data that comes through your bank account. As long as you connect all the bank accounts that you receive income in, all of your income will be verified.

How can I re-open my income screening?If you already submitted your income verification but wish to add/remove accounts or modify your comments, you can re-open you screening by going back to your original email/text or the email containing your report. On your original email or text, click "Verify My Income": On the email containing your completed report: From there, you will be taken to a screen where you are given the option to re-open your screening.

Completing multiple income verifications on one deviceFor security reasons, each applicant is required to complete their income verification under their own login. If you previously completed an income verification and are trying to complete another one on the same device, you might be met with the following error: "You are not authorized to complete this income screening Because you are currently logged in as John Smith (john@gmail.com), you are trying to access an income screening you are not authorized to view.

What is income verification and why do I need to do this?Automated income verification from The Closing Docs is a process to verify the amount of income you receive using data directly from your bank. Since we connect directly to your bank, there is no chance of pay stub fraud, unlike uploading documents like bank statements and pay stubs where anyone with photoshop can alter their income. You connect your bank account through our secure service by signing into your bank using your online banking credentials.

Enabling cookies for income verificationIf you receive the following error message: "We require cookies to be enabled on your browser for you to continue your income verification. If you require assistance in enabling your cookies, please contact The Closing Docs support." You currently have cookies disabled on your device. Cookies are required for income verification, and can be turned on through a setting in your browser. For example, you can see how to turn on cookies here with Google Chrome.

How long does this process take?Usually, this process takes around 3-5 minutes for you to complete. The time it takes for you to connect your bank account depends on how connective and responsive your bank is. Usually, it only takes a minute or two, but can take up to 5 minutes. How do I add more than one bank account?If you have more than one bank account, we give you the opportunity to connect multiple bank accounts after your first bank connection. Once you've connected your first bank account, you can connect another by clicking the link shown below.

Do applicants receive a copy of their income report?If an applicant connects their bank account and complete the income verification process, they will receive a copy of their income report sent to their email as soon as the process is finished. If the screening request contains multiple applicants, the applicant will only receive a copy of their own income report, to protect each applicant's privacy. If the applicant submits that they share a bank or do not produce any income, they do not receive a copy of their report.

How do I add an income explanation?If you want to add an explanation about your income data, we give you the opportunity to add an income explanation to your report. Once you've connected your bank account, you can add an income explanation by clicking the link shown below.

What if the phone number to receive my security code is incorrect?As you are connecting your bank, you might be asked to confirm a security code that is sent to your phone number. If you find that the phone number options that are given are incorrect, please make sure that your phone number is updated in your bank's file and online banking. In the end, it is your bank that handles sending and confirming the security code, not The Closing Docs.

What if I do not receive direct deposit?The Closing Docs' automated income verification does not only pull direct deposit income, but ANY deposits that are put into the bank accounts you connect. So, for example, if you get paid in cash or check and deposit that income into your bank account, our income verification will be able to verify your income.
